I am an evolutionary biologist with a passion for investigating the processes that drive the diversity of life. I am particularly interested in the mechanisms underlying adaptation and divergence in natural populations of vertebrate species.
I am currently working on my Ph.D. at Cornell University in the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology under the advisement of Drs. Kelly Zamudio and Nina Therkildsen.
Prior to beginning my Ph.D., I earned an M.S. from the Department of Biology at California State University, Northridge, working in Dr. Jeanne Robertson's lab. In 2013, I graduated from UCLA with a B.S. in Biology from the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology.
My ultimate goal is to pursue a career in academia as a biology professor because I am extremely passionate about both research and teaching. I am committed to working within my community of first-generation college students, women, and immigrants to empower them, creating a ripple effect to engage and educate the public about the importance of biological knowledge to our lives and our planet.
